Kat Nestel from "American Idol" is one of the contestants who made it to Hollywood in Season 9 of the FOX reality singing competition. She auditioned in Los Angeles, California. She plays the guitar and piano and writes her own music. She is from Newport Beach, California, and is 19 years old.
Kat Nestel from "American Idol" Season 9 says, "I've always known that I am here for one thing: singing and making music. I believe that my music reflects the fun, exciting, and sometimes challenging life of a 19-year-old girl. Although I have a long list of inspirations, a few that have had the biggest impact on me are Pink, The Beatles and Alanis Morissette. I play guitar, piano, and have been singing ever since I said my first words. I like to describe my music as acoustic with pop and rock influences. The variety of music that I listen to definitely shows in my songwriting."
